I’m a simple man and I don’t need much to get by.
I don’t need a big, fancy place to live, that’s for sure.
The only thing I care about is comfort. My apartment is just big enough to be comfortable for me and my little dog. I have a kitchenette, a dinette, a small living room, a bedroom, a bathroom, and a small balcony with a lovely view of the city. However, the most important thing for my own personal comfort is an effective air conditioner and heater. I would trade at least a third of my living space as long as it meant that I could have the temperature that I want on the thermostat. HVAC maintenance is taken care of as part of my rent, and I am very glad that my landlord takes good care of our HVAC equipment. If there’s some sort of breakdown, typically within twenty-four hours, it’s fixed. I just love relaxing on my couch in the cool breezy air coming from my vents in the summer. I end up falling asleep for a quick nap so easily that way. Similarly, in the winter, my little apartment is nice and toasty. I got one of those fake miniature fireplaces for looks, because the truth is, I don’t need it for warmth. On winter evenings, I’m snug as a bug in a rug, that’s for sure. I almost wonder why my rent isn’t higher, considering the excellent climate control afforded me in my happy little abode. Should I be paying less rent for the size of my living space? Probably, but I’m just so comfortable!
