We are marching through 2023 at a fast pace and it won’t be long before I am planning my trip back home for the winter holidays. I will probably go back for two months this winter to spend more time with my family and friends. It really makes you think about time and life when you go back to visit your hometown after being gone a long time. It just feels like the pace of life is too fast back home for me anymore, and it seems like everyone is richer and busier than I ever want to be. Heating and cooling system work is a part time thing for me, more of something that is on the backburner, than a heavy full time job like most of my friends have. It seems they are married to their jobs and have very little time to do anything else until they hit that magical 65 year mark. I work 15 hours a week for the local contractor doing smart thermostat sales and helping the HVAC customers with any problems they may be having with their systems in their homes. I don’t mind the work, but I wouldn’t want to do it full time, as it would take away from all of the fun I am having doing the things that I really love doing. I like cleaning ductwork now and then, but there is no way you could get me to do HVAC repairs full time and put my music and sports on the back burner. I think work should come second to having fun in life.
