The energy bill is way too high

I just cut a check that looked something like a down payment on a used car.

It was, in fact, our biweekly energy bill.

Granted, this is as high as the biweekly utility bill gets. It’s the height of Summer in the South. So, the Heating plus A/C cooling system is running a bit overboard attempting to keep our house cool. There are a couple of troubles which lead to these types of biweekly bills. First, our Heating plus A/C heating and cooling system is on the disadvantage of its productivity. The two of us bought this house knowing full well that an Heating plus A/C replacement would be something the two of us had to contend with in the future. The Heating plus A/C system is 15 years old. That is generally considered to be about the length of time an Heating plus A/C runs. Ours is failing because it can’t keep up with demand on the hottest mornings. Additionally, the efficiency is vastly bizarre than the last few years. Our energy bill is sky rocketing and this is a sure sign that our Heating plus A/C is on its last legs. When the fall gets here, the two of us have plans in place to replace it for a new, state of the art model. The other troubles have to do with how little the two of us do to lessen the load on our heating and cooling unit. When the two of us put the modern unit in, we’ll be increasing some other things. New curtains will be going up to block the direct sunshine from heating our home. Currently, there are some blinds however the two of us rarely, if ever, shut them to mitigate the direct sun. The two of us will also add a smart control unit.
