My poor space heater has been through a lot.
I have had the silly thing for over ten years now, and it is really starting to show its age.
I had three space heaters last year, but two of them stopped working within the same week. Both of them were relatively new compared to the one that is still working now. I guess the old fashioned ones actually hold up better than the newer ones. The one thing that really concerns me though is the fact that space heaters can be quite dangerous, and I feel like the older they are the more dangerous they probably are. My husband told me that I should just go ahead and get a new space heater to replace the old one, but I hate to spend money on a new one when the one that I have is still working perfectly fine. I would be more worried if I left it on when I am not home, but I never leave it one when I am not at the house. I even turn off the heater when I go outside to do yard work. I know that he is probably right though and with my luck if I do not listen to his advice, I will probably end up burning the house down with my old space heater. I dropped the old thing a couple of days ago, and now it has a huge dent in the side of it which makes it look pretty homely. One of the reasons that I wanted to keep it was because of how antique and nice it looked, but now, I cannot use that as an excuse to keep it because it is not longer nice looking.
