My wife thought her HVAC technician was the best because it’s our son.

When my wife finds something she likes, she sticks with it.

She was the same way with the HVAC company we used.

She thought her HVAC technician was the best technician in the HVAC company. Whenever we needed any kind of service, she would request the same HVAC technician. I wondered what she was going to do if the young man ever quit the HVAC company? I tried to discuss this inevitability, but she was sure he wouldn’t never do this. I had talked to him every time he came to the house, and I knew he hoped to get into a national HVAC company and put some money in the bank. He wanted to create a new local HVAC company and give the current and only local HVAC company some competition. I agreed with his goals and patted him on the back. I think our current HVAC technician is her favorite, and she thinks he is the best because he is our son, but he won’t always be available to work for us. She needs to take a step back and realize he needs his independence. It does me no good to discuss this with her. I’ll need to get our son to sit down and tell her about his career plan. Until that happens, she’ll continue to think he will always be at her beck and call when she needs HVAC service. I have a feeling she will not be happy with his decision, but he is twenty-five, about to be married, and no longer her little boy.
