I lived up north for exactly two winters.

I had to leave the air conditioning of the south for the mass HVAC heating of the north for two years. Our company has an office up there that you sort of have to go through if you’re looking to get to the corporate offices. While I love the zone controlled HVAC of the offices I’m in, we are all gunning for corporate. I’m lucky that I won’t have to go back up north to all those gas furnaces and boilers when I finally get the call to come to corporate. It’s in the south as well and really, not all that far from where I currently reside. So I’m not stressing that any longer. But last summer was full of stress but it wasn’t inside the zone controlled HVAC of the office. I was stressed out because we rolled the dice on our old heat pump after the HVAC technician suggested that we replace it. Actually, what the HVAC professional said was that the heat pump was at the end of it’s life. He just wasn’t too sure that it’d make it through the summer. But since we hadn’t started saving like we should have, we rolled the dice on the old HVAC unit. We lucked out and made it to October when we had the new residential HVAC installed. This summer, there is no stress whatsoever when it comes to the heat and humidity of summer. The new HVAC unit is spectacular and is doing and amazing job of providing us all the quality heating and air we could want.
