Does this violate his HVAC duties?

I called the HVAC company because we were having a problem with the air conditioning unit.

The AC seemed to run longer, but we were getting less cool air.

My husband was very upset that I would not let him repair the air conditioning unit. He had been an HVAC technician many years ago, but the equipment had changed. It was different now than it was when he was younger. I tried to tell him ‌he was in his eighties and had been retired for twenty years. I didn’t expect him to work any longer. He was upset with me and walked away while dismissing me with his hands. I knew it hurt that he couldn’t work on HVAC systems any longer, but he wasn’t familiar with the new equipment. I tried teasing him and told him I may let him go out and talk to the HVAC technician when he showed up. I saw the smile and knew he was going to do a lot more than talk. I was sure he was going to be out there coaching whoever ‌showed up to work on our air conditioning unit. Two hours later, a young man, young enough to be our grandson, showed up at the house. He showed his HVAC company ID badge and asked if my husband would show him to the AC unit. Fifteen minutes later, my husband was in the house. Apparently, my husband was questioning everything the young HVAC technician did, and offered his help. The young man said that if he allowed my husband to help him, it would violate his duties as an HVAC technician.
